The Selves

🌒 Why do you think some people choose to isolate themselves emotionally — even in a relationship?

@DMS1791

When you notice things others don’t, and are willing to call out the lies and false assumptions everyone lives by because they are afraid of rocking the boat, eventually it becomes exhausting being the only one seemingly with a true and strong moral conviction or intellectual honesty. You don’t make many friends being honest. You make plenty if you’re willing to lie to yourself or others. I can’t live like that.

It's just easier to be alone than constantly attempting to explain to others that I am not them!

Because emotional isolation often feels safer than vulnerability — especially for those who’ve been hurt before !

I really do feel safer alone. Im the only person that cant leave me. I am the only one who can understand myself fully, I can depend on myself, accept myself and ill always be by my side when noone is. Sadly that makes me territorial, possessive and selfish sometimes. But its really the fear of loosing myself that makes me that way, because i feel like Myself is the only thing i have. So id rather be safe and alone 🙃

Because they feel safer in their own world but they get terrified at the thought of sharing that world with their other half. They think that they will mess up or get too comfortable and lose who they truly are and the one they love And they are afraid of going out of their shell and be humiliated by the outside world they are just introverts with ❤❤❤😊😊

Many of them don't even have a connection to themselves. It starts with you! Most people's actions reflect who they are .

All the reasons are valid and true to the individual.

They fear getting overly attached to something that may end up temporary

@Mensology

Because most people aren’t in relationships. They’re in silent negotiations — between their childhood wounds and their survival instincts. 👉 It just looks like love on the outside

They're tired of being treated like garbage

The middle two go hand in hand. It’s a cause and effect scenario

None of the above

@kellygreenii

All of the above. Different reasons for different people.

For the same reason why that people who call themselves psychologists and psychiatrists wear full three piece suits and hide behind a beard or a moustache .

@darrylallison2239

I would all of above.

Because people suck and you can't lie to yourself. Being alone is the key. If you're able to love then love. Just don't expect love in return. Time will pass and then you will find out what you have been looking for.
