Oh wow, I never considered that over the top fanatical religious behaviour and obsessing about transgressions, dogma and rituals could have been a symptom of OCD but it makes so much sense if you just stop to consider it for a moment 🤯 In fact, I think this explains so much about my clean freak cousin who did not just convert to religion after a messy divorce, but went so over to the top, she has been living like a caricature of a medieval nun ever since then for over 10 years now. She got rid of all furniture but the barest minimum (like bed, 1 table and chair), replaced all decorations and all electronic devices with religious icons, wont speak to any non-repentant "sinners" even her immediate family, and uses most of her time in fervent praying refusing to work or socialise, since it would take away time from her prayin
