R.I.P. Eddie Jordan (1948-2025)
Legendary Formula 1 team owner, Eddie Jordan, has lost his battle with cancer. Known for his eye for spotting talent, his ability to put deals together, and his irrepressible nature, Jordan was one of the last old-school privateers in F1. Between 1991 and 2005, he launched the careers of several F1 drivers, the most prominent of them being Michael Schumacher. While the Jordan team might not have been at the pointy end of the grid too often, they did have three Formula 1 victories to their name – the first courtesy of Damon Hill at the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix, followed by two wins for Heinz-Harald Frentzen in 1999. While Eddie Jordan sold his race team in 2005, he continued to be part of the paddock, as a commentator and F1 pundit. The sport will miss his presence.
