Hello Hunters! Just wanted to check in and see how Title Update 2 has been treating those of you on PC performance wise, the poll options are fairly broad so please elaborate in the comments if you need to or wish to!

Other than that happy hunting, Gog both new monsters are incredible!

@Mr.oof1973

Performance has been fine!!! But I’m about to wipe Steve’s entire bloodline if he kicks me one more damn time.

It's great. R7 5700x3d and RTX4060 been putting up some decent work at 75-100fps with a mixture of high and low settings and dlss. Since launch my setup has been running the game just fine and it makes sense to me why it's so much 'heavier' of a game than other MH games, as it has a substantially higher of variables scattered around the environment, as well as better graphics comparatively.

As a console player, my input is very important. Just kidding, but I do hope our PC hunters are doing better this update.

There’s been a noticeable improvement to how textures render since the update. You have to sit through the lengthy shader setup but once it’s done I’ve had no trouble with Wilds since. Very happy with how things are going.

@raph43L

Seems the same for me. I am confused on the steam reviews tho. I play on a 4080 laptop on high settings with consistent 80 to 85 fps since launch

@thefarmerartist

My 10 year old PC has played it on high settings since launch lol I have an RX 5700 and its never missed a beat

@LordRegal94

Better on my 3070. It's not perfect but I'm noticing fewer frame drops and choppy areas, and the manual shader compiling is a godsend on first load.

@Eyeball117

Since launch I haven't had over 40 frames and now after the update I consistently drop down below 30 frames, sometimes below 20

I haven't touched it for months it literally felt unejoyable so I went back to clearing backlog i have done 20+ games so far this year.

PC Performance seems to be getting progressively better and better, and have definitely noticed a pretty decent change with TU2, hope it keeps getting better. Basic lil 4060 ti 8GB and a Ryzen 5 7600 mix of high and low settings, inputs seem to register faster as well using controller.

@someguyperson

Before the patch, frametimes would spike by 5-10 ms 4 times a second, which led to the game feeling janky & bad. Capcom resolved that issue, which is a good thing. But, the problems aren't entirely resolved because the game cuts it too close while using an 8 GB GPU still. At least the game tells you that you basically can't use frame-generation on an 8 GB card, but the developers should still work to lessen the VRAM usage. The options we currently have drop quality too far to save too little RAM.

@joelyfish4216

there hasn't been any real change for me with a 4070 using frame gen, but that's because there was never a negative change for me since launch. I'm not sure what happened to everyone else, but the performance issues that suddenly started affecting everyone else never appeared for me.

On pc i feel its mostly the same but one specific thing thats happening and i see a lot of people reporting is when changing weapons. The game does a HEAVY screen freeze for a few seconds and one time it crashed for me. This is both on the inventory chess and at the smithy. 9070 XT 9800X3D

@genamemmara

I actually haven't crashed like I usually do, and I haven't changed anything. I still run max textures, min shadows, and a few other more minor customizations. Legitimately, the game actually runs much better after my break. Keeping in mind, I'm also jamming it with a vtuber program, discord, and obs. Also, cotton would be happy to know: I may end up becoming a hammer bro, hammer feels really good now :3

I play on a stock Alienware Aurora 9 with an RTX 2080 Super. My graphics settings are custom and aside from the slow model load in every now and then I have literally no issues. Its ran as smooth as World for me since the update before TU2. Not TU1 but the last minor patch before TU 2.

@KBaldy

Using an RTX 4070 Ti Super Graphics Card I'm getting around 50-60 fps in game with dips into the high 40's at the absolute busiest, honestly really glad about how things are improving.

@jasongordon1968

I have no idea why but it somehow takes up more of my RAM to run after the update. The high preset used to bring me to about 5.8 gigs, it now brings me to over 7 and I get into the red

@pnkeo

Noticed a decent performance increase this update with the only thing I changed outside of MHWilds being a driver update but the performance increase seemed much better than what just a driver update would cause

@henriboteule

between the dlss 2 and 4 support, the improved VRAM usage, the pre loading of shaders and the last Nvidia driver, Wilds is running straight up perfectly right now

Feeling good with the update. A lot of quality of life changes are flying under the radar with the major updates taking center stage right now. Hammer and PC performance are super important highlights, the two monsters are incredibly well executed by whatever standards you want to set to measure them by. But here’s the things I’m seeing that are good great amazing flying low rn for a lot of people they haven’t noticed yet. Charge Blade guard points will now perfect block. Which also means you can get into power clashes off a perfect block. This is excellent qol I had swapped off Charge Blade main to explore all the other weapons since I’d been rocking CB into my fifth World/Iceborne playthrough and getting super good at it. Having guard points not be a perfect block was weird. It felt wrong, those guard points and hitting them to combo into punishing the monster is a massive part of CB style of play. Impact Vials and Element SAED saw massive buffs too. Swaxe received major buffs, looking a little too major almost. Just a lot of raw damage on some attacks that felt pitifully weak before, especially compared to World/Rise where Swaxe sword mode hit supremely hard and in Rise where Swaxe had some of the most unique looking style of play for switch skills. Switch Axe felt great on launch but also like there was no reason to attack in sword mode with anything but unbridled slash, your sword attacks weren’t hitting for the damage they did in World. It was a good call to buff damage, really balances out the kit. Hammer of course received a new move and extra damage, all is good for the bonk brained hunters. I am with you my brethren. One major thing to note is that Sword and Shield actually received a DEBUFF, significant ones at that. Funny enough, yes. Sword and Shield was OP. Waaaay more fun than any other SnS play from any other MH Title so far. SNS at launch polished what they had in the beta off and told the SNS crew that they were going to be able to take the N out of SNS for their tierlists this time around. SS tier Sword And Shield. Love it. I played SNS after I swapped around a bunch of weapons and fell in love with it. My go to right now. I’m going to be honest. I barely even noticed the debuffs since they also rebalanced the shield combo damage and stun build up. It’s all MV adjustments. The sliding slash got slightly less I-frames, oh no anyways I’ll be concerned about my I-frames from the next postal code over, the mobility is what I use it for. Guard Slash gimmicks with perfect block were removed too, you know what? Good. That’s dragging down my style of play, didn’t even think it was an option. Get that C-tier guard slash weak stuff outta here. Good calls all around. Not to be too cliche, but Capcom really blew the Lagiacrus outta the water this patch. Not only are they cooking at capcom, everybody seems to be eating too.
