Nick Nitro

An Overdue update on Project Dash my rpg adventure game:
I haven't made any big progress on the game lately because I have ideas but my programming skills are limited. the friend whom I've wanted to help is too busy so my progress has come to a halt.
I want to make a unique rpg, but simplicity might just have to be it. the features weren't difficult, it's just I'm not really a good programmer.

ultimately I'm going to compromise, if it's a simple rpg than I'll put my heart & soul into the few ideas I can implement & make the experience as enjoyable as possible. I think the best I can pull is rpg adventure with a lot of visual novel elements.

that way the story can be enjoyed to the fullest even if the fights aren't complex.

@level0maid

I don't recognize you, but I agree with the comments. A rushed game is bad forever, but a delayed game can be great later. Take your time, make what makes you happy. That doesn't mean you should go and slave over every feature and do your best to implement it, btw. If you're inexperienced, that can lead to poor execution and a domino effect down the line. Buuut, if you want this to be your big project and development has to halt for now, instead of compromising on this, why not make other, smaller projects to help learn coding? That way you amass a lot of experience on projects you're counting on less, and you can be better prepared for the one you put your all into? Just food for thought. I'm not a game dev nor am I an artist, just a passerby.

Nick, I do not care if the sun explodes in the interim. I waited for a game made by like 4 guys for nearly a decade. I can wait for a passion project made by 1 guy for the next 12 centuries if that is what you need to be satisfied with your own work and believe that it is complete. Your work shall be loved by many regardless of the time it takes. Enjoy the process, that's the important thing.

Nick. My Buddy, My Friend, my pal, my choom, my niko. You're doing great. I'm working on something right now in Lua, and you're making 50 times my progress on 100x the scale and difficulty. Stand proud, you are cooking. And whatever decisions you want to make, or whatever direction you want to take, go for it! I'm confident that your call is the right one. (also AHHH I CAN'T GET OVER THE FACES WHY ARE THEY SO SILLY)

I waited like 12 years for Dead Island 2. Im patient enough to wait for an indie game with your art style.

I'm sure it'll be a great, unique game, even if you don't use all your ideas. And you know why? Because it's a game you created! So it'll be uniquely yours, even if it's simple.

I'm sure you'll succeed. Sometimes we just need creativity with the few things we have and can do. But you can always ask someone for a little help!

As long as its what you want to accomplish, then you take as long as you need, and commit to whatever choice you wish to do

I myself wish to one day, even if only a hobby, make video games. When it comes to game development, ultimately the only way to make a good game is put forth effort. "Actions speak louder than words.", this is a great example of how it works, someone can say, "Well, I tried my best." But if they didn't put effort into it then it won't work. You can tell when effort is put into a game, and when it may have not been. Do your best, even if things don't go as planned or in your favor, just keep trying, it shouldn't matter in the end if you simply just try. And if in the end it doesn't work, failure is just the beginning of success, you learn through faults so that you may correct them.
