How much influence do you believe music has on your spiritual life?

@songxku

Major artists have talked about literally praying/doing demonic rituals over song tracks. Music (depending on what you’re listening to) taps into the subconscious and can unwillingly tamper with the spirit. Always pray in the name of Christ afterwards ❤🙏

Hardly ever listen unless I'm certain who and what they're singing

I have several hymns playlist, some contemporary worship songs, some classic hymns and some country gospel songs. These playlists help me to disconnect from the world and refresh my mind and heart to recenter to Jesus.

Music 🎵 is frequency and comes in many forms. Even a bird singing is music. I believe we have many forms of “music” around us all day long !! 🎼

That is so funny I was having this conversation in my mind this morning about a metal band called Soulfly that has been my favorite band for 23 years. Their first self titled album was definitely a spiritual awakening in me. I’ve listen to it no less then one hundred times even though I haven’t listen to it in full and probably 15 years. It is such a great album. If you have an open mind, you’re into the early 2000’s metal scence and even if not, try giving it a listen on 🍄 There is no other album in the world I would recommend listening too, this has been my favorite band ever since pantera broke up in 2004. I have followed them through over a dozen Albums many different lineup changes. The one thing that stays the same is the singer Max Cavalera. The original singer of Sepultura. Now his son is on drums and they are coming out with a new album this month actually. Rock on

432 Hz would be so much better than our current 440 Hz. Anyway, I love listening to Bach and Bruckner: They were accomplished masters of the art, especially when it comes to counterpoint-technique and "turning music into mathematics", plus they were also unusually devout Christians. It's really hard to find anybody similar to them, in terms of professionalism & spirituality.

Everything we consume has an affect on our soul, mind, and even how we live. Music, media is teaching us and we either know it, see it, or Don't realize it is.

My husband once said something interesting. He said music can either entice us or edify us. I find that to be true. Music is very moving to my soul and can make me angry or anxious, or put me in a worshipful mode. I think it is the language of the soul.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12

It has the potential to have a signifcant impact on your spiritual life if you listen to the wrong types all the time for sure. Specifically genres like gangster rap, and others. I doubt a lot of people would even realize it. But it has a way of “romanticizing” greed, promiscuity, violence, drug abuse, etc. Some of the songs can be catchy, and sound pretty good though, but your mind memorizes the songs and messaging. If nothing else, you might be more prone to thinking drugs or promiscuity aren’t that big a deal when it’s ingrained in your mind.

That’s something I have been thinking about a lot as a Christian. I used to listen to crap like slipknot and other metal/rock, but the Lord showed me how badly they were affecting my spirit. Some Christians claim all secular music is bad, but I am not in agreement with that point of view as of right now.

The hard rock of today, with its heavy bass, screaming vocals and aggressive drum beat, is a call to violence and chaos. Country music is designed to make men weak and depressed. Rap is hate towards women, which explains the preferences of rap artists. The drug induced rock of the 70's was a demonic invitation. Music is very spiritual, predominately evil.
