Sith Mastery

Who is the Most Influential Sith of All Time?

1 month ago | [YT] | 88

@darthtrayus6066

Darth Bane was one of the most influential Sith of all. The Rule of Two and the Sith Grand Plan brought the Sith the closest to absolute victory over the Jedi and the Republic. Although he didn't live to see it, his actions saw the bloated corpse of the Republic transformed into the Galactic Empire, and the Jedi brought nearly to extinction through Order 66. He not only fooled the Jedi into believing the Sith were extinct, but also ensured that each new master and apprentice would be stronger than the last. He may not have been the most powerful Sith, but his influence and legacy would last a thousand years. Under the Rule of Two, the Sith once more ruled the galaxy.

With the word influence I’m thinking of two things. Their alignment to what it meant to be a Sith AND how they benefited the Sith order as a whole. Revan is one of if not the most influential. Revan and Bane to me sit at the top in terms of influence. Now Revan…. through his own discovery introduced the idea of the rule of two to Bane who implemented it. Despite his return to the light side he is still respected among the Sith order. His “fall” wasn’t a normal fall in the traditional sense. He sought to use the dark side as a tool. Of course it corrupted him like everyone else and he became ruthless and dropped the Jedi code completely before being redeem. But Revan is unique because he embodied everything Sith should be. Sacrificing the self for the goal and pursuing power, strength, and knowledge of everything. After his redemption and victory against the Sith he NEARLY saved the Jedi from its future stagnation especially during the time of the prequels. He not only re embraced the light but was the first Jedi hundreds of years before Luke to discover that if used properly love can give you a more powerful connection to the light side of the force as Sith use their hatred to tap deeper into the dark. Of course he was seen as a rogue Jedi and the order (especially older Jedi) viewed him as a danger to the younger upcoming Jedi. Had his views have been embraced you would have had an order by the time Anakin came in that was comparable in philosophy to Qui Gon Jin. Prioritizing the will of the force above codes and set rules and as a result having a deeper connection to it. Which would have made it extremely difficult for Sidious he was the perfect culmination of the Rule of Two. Sidious and Vitiate are among the MOST powerful of the Sith but are ironically the least influential simply because of their arrogance. Arrogance is embraced in Sith philosophy but not to the extent to a Sith seeing themselves outside the realm of the Sith order despite calling themselves Sith and embracing its knowledge and teachings. They served themselves mostly and didn’t care as much for the future of the order but their own rule. Darth Malgus PERFECTLY embodied the Sith as Bane did but I’m not sure in terms of overall influence I’ll need to look back into that

Vitiate in terms of longest influence, Bane in terms of positive change, and Palpatine in terms of direct impact

Darth Bane had THE LEGACY. I'm sure that's influential enough to be the most INFLUENTIAL sith lord of all time.

In this list, I'd say Darth Vitiate. One of the most powerful (if not, THE most powerful), Sith Lord of all time, and ruled for over 1,500 years. Sure, Darth Sidious achieved Galactic domination, but he ruled only for 20 years, and the Sith very nearly died with him since he never once trained any of his apprentices as true successors, spitting in the face of Bane's legacy. If not for Darth Krayt, the Sith would have died with Sidious' utterly selfish incompetence. The MOST influential Sith Lord, however, out of the great many, was Ajunta Pall, the creator of the Sith Order. He is responsible for EVERYTHING the Sith have done for the thousands of years they have existed.

@Fact-fiend_1000ASMR.

King Adas, The First Sith'ari and King of Korriban. His brutal unification of Korriban and subsequent reign, called The Reign of the Axe, set the stage for all of Sith History. No Adas, No Sith. Plagueis theorized that the Force was self-regulating and that it brought into being, strong wielders in the Force, to bring balance. If true, why was Adas born? To counter the Rakata?

Of the 3 listed it would be Palpatine. Only sith to overthrow the Jedi and the Republic successfully while creating stability through the Empire. His impact was still felt both on Galactic politics and sith orders hundreds of years after his death. But many Sith who came long before Plagueis and Sideous were far more influential overall. Revan, Bane, and Exar Kun being my top three.

Initially I thought Vitiate but for all he may have achieved with his influence, much of that history was lost by the time of the New Sith Wars. I know that this was because SWTOR was created after the Darth Bane trilogy was written, so back then Darth Revan’s Sith Empire was the last one to exist prior to the New Sith Wars. In-universe one could argue that much of the SWTOR era was lost or destroyed by the Jedi, with some notes only being recovered again during the Rule of Two era. Despite my misgivings of the Rule of Two, I would say the most influential beings on both lists are very important members of that institution: Darth Bane and Darth Sidious. Sidious was a political mastermind and the perfect one to see the Grand Plan brought to fruition (even if he wasn’t the most perfect Sith Lord to actually rule).
