For The Kingdom
You ever notice how we quote verses that make us feel good but skip the ones that make us growIf the Word always agrees with you, you’re probably reading it wrong.I was reading Luke 10 this morning, the verse that says the harvest is plentiful. We love to use that verse to talk about opportunity.More business.More favor.More open doors. But that’s not what Jesus meant. He was talking about the work. The people. The souls.I used to quote that verse like it was about chasing blessings. Then I actually read the whole thing.Somewhere along the way we flipped the meaning. We turned a call to go into a reason to get.I’ve done it too.Reading verses for confirmation instead of correction.Looking for motivation instead of transformation. If the Word makes life smoother but never changes your heart, you’re missing the point. You can’t be transformed by a Word you keep trying to control. So ask yourself today. Are you reading the Bible to be changed or just to be comforted.Because one leads to growth. The other leads to burnout.

For The Kingdom
You ever notice how we quote verses that make us feel good but skip the ones that make us grow
If the Word always agrees with you, you’re probably reading it wrong.
I was reading Luke 10 this morning, the verse that says the harvest is plentiful.
We love to use that verse to talk about opportunity.
More business.
More favor.
More open doors.
But that’s not what Jesus meant.
He was talking about the work.
The people.
The souls.
I used to quote that verse like it was about chasing blessings. Then I actually read the whole thing.
Somewhere along the way we flipped the meaning.
We turned a call to go into a reason to get.
I’ve done it too.
Reading verses for confirmation instead of correction.
Looking for motivation instead of transformation.
If the Word makes life smoother but never changes your heart, you’re missing the point.
You can’t be transformed by a Word you keep trying to control.
So ask yourself today.
Are you reading the Bible to be changed or just to be comforted.
Because one leads to growth. The other leads to burnout.
