Over three weeks of break is enough - it’s time to start the next chapter.
Starting today, you’ll be able to watch and listen to a 40-minute mix on my YouTube channel that I’ve prepared for you. I hope you’ll appreciate not only the music but also the visuals, because the video will feature footage from a car spot inspired by Need for Speed and JDM culture, where I played this set live. This is how I’m kicking off a new series called “WAVE ESSENTIALS by 97Kickstvr.”
So what exactly is Wave Essentials? 🤔
It’s what you guys love - a longer mix with Wave / Phonk / Hardwave tracks - but it won’t be the same as NightDrive Mix. In this new series, I want to combine the music with cinematic, underground, car-themed visuals - real footage of me performing behind the decks at car meets, so you can feel like you’re actually there. You could think of it as an "online concert" in a unique setting.
Secondly, I want it to serve as an essentials collection for the Wave/Phonk sound. That means besides my own tracks, you’ll also hear music from other artists who truly deserve recognition. And third - every episode will be both a summary of this genre and a step forward in my journey. You’ll hear my best-known tracks, but also a few IDs - new songs that haven’t been released yet.
We’ll see how this format is received, but for now, I’m thinking about doing something like this once a year.
And finally - as I mentioned, this mix includes several brand-new tracks and I want you to know that over the next few months, I’ll be regularly releasing new singles and remixes. You can expect a steady stream of fresh music coming your way very soon!
