Just thought I'd share some pics on here, this is pure "salt crystals" as I called em, mined from a depth of 1,200 feet underground beneath the state of Michigan. Here in Michigan we live atop a vast dome-like shape deposit of salt that spans the entire state and beyond iirc.
This salt usually broke apart in square-like shapes, and yes this is the raw salt "ore" in its purest form, only thing that touched it other my hand was the steel-carbide tipped 14-Foot Long drum on a JOY continuous mining machine. (you can look those up on YouTube to see some in action)
