Happy Halloween! But it's not only Halloween...
Today marks 10 years since Rolf R. Bakke published the first oscilloscope view made with SidWiz, a program he designed to create osc. views of SID music.

On this very special day, I'd like to announce a new tool I myself created to further improve both the quality and the process of making SID osc. views. You can download it and find further information about it here: www.github.com/acrouzet/sidvis.

I named it "sidvis", in honor of SidWiz, however it doesn't make osc. views itself. Rather, it's a batch script that records from a modified fork of the sidplayfp SID emulator, processes the recordings with ffmpeg, and then outputs .wav files that are designed to be used with the corrscope osc. view creator to easily create ultra clean and stable SID osc. views.

Below is the first osc. view made with sidvis, and I think it's a stark improvement over many SID osc. views made previously. Just compare this video with an osc. view I made of this same soundtrack 7 years ago: https://youtu.be/wz36JWHTk-A

I hope other people find this tool useful, and that it will help bring the joy of SID music to even more people in the future, like SidWiz did for me!
