some context: i'm translating the portuguese terms to english so I might get some mistakes here, but the expedition is a big camping thing that the big group I'm in does. scouts is divided in 4 big groups and they're divided by age, excluding the chiefs, and each big group is divided in small groups, and in the big group I'm in there's 2 groups, my group and the other group, in case you reading didn't know
I'm a (kinda closeted) trans man, some of my friends know that I'm trans and they call me by my preferred name but I don't look like a guy at all since I still didn't exactly tell my family, and today in scouts we needed to get ideas for the expedition, and in my group there's me, my friend (who knows that I'm trans and calls me by my preferred name), my other friend (I told her before that I was trans but i think she forgot) and a new guy that recently joined the scouts (he's I think also my friend but I'll call him new guy just because it's easier)
my friend kept calling me my preferred name, and my other friend was very confused so she just asked "who is that guy?" and so I told her it was me and she was just "wait you're trans???? fr??" and I just told her that yes, I am trans, and I was confused because she literally saw my rainbow belt with the trans flag in it and I told her I was trans before, and then the new guy (who knew my preferred name but didn't figure out I was trans) just said "so I'm not the only one here??" (he is also a trans guy, but he isn't in the closet and he does look like a guy) and I just nodded and thought that it was all very funny. it all became even funnier when my friend realised that then she's the only girl in the group (there was another guy who didn't go that day, and we all ended up realising that that guy is the only cishet person in the group, which is also kinda funny to me)
