Going to America is not a safe thing for us right now mate. An Australian, Renato Subotic went out there for an MMA conference and he was detained, handcuffed, questioned for three hours. Told there was a mistake with his visa and then took him to federal prison with no clear explanation, no chance to talk to anyone and no rights. He saw a guy getting beaten up by other inmates in front of guards who did nothing, had to defend himself against two inmates and only the facts that he was a trained fighter and a christian kept him from it. I would say be very careful, make sure everything is in order. There are multiple reports of tourists being taken to US immigration detention centres for weeks at a time over visa issues, including Lucas Sielaff who was locked up for 16 days after being accused of violating his tourist visa. America is not a safe place right now mate, no one would think any less of you if you cancelled your trip.
