What's the best brand/type of PLA??? And other materials too! I am going to be testing some out in an upcoming project so I'm looking for suggestions. Comment your favorite below!

I am a big fan of ESUN PLA+, i’ve used the black color only and in my experience it prints well.

As a German, I really like the Das Filament filament. Might be hard to get outside of the EU. Also the Extrudr PLA is very good.

I personally LOVE Polymaker’s PolyTerra PLA

I like the finish of hatchbox matte white. Easy to print with, and it takes sharpie really well if you wanted to do low budget/skill painting.

I’ll put my vote on add:north, great tolerance on their filaments diameter.

I mainly use Sunlu Pla +, because it's cheap (you can geht them for 10€ per kg) and works great. For really good colours i use Redline Filament.

I really like 3dfuel product. They have regular and "pro" pla+ . They make it all here in the states and the customer service is fantastic. To be transparent, I did have a couple spools arrive with the vacuum seal broken but a couple hours in the toaster oven cleared it right up.

I swear by Overtrue, hatchbox, and duramic. For strength critical parts I use 3dfuel pla+ I will go out on a limb and say it is THE strongest pla filament, it's performance is staggering!

I've had good experiences with Hatchbox, Polymaker, and Inland PLA (in PLA+, PLA Pro, and Matte finishes in each). I've also used SunLu and Spidermaker to good effect as well. I've been curious about all the ads that I've seen on social media for all these other random filament makers that have seemingly come from nowhere though (Printed Solid, Protomakers, Numakers, Fremover, etc.).

Very, and I mean very, important aspect of PLA is base resin. Most manufacturers don't even list it at all while it dictates a lot of properties as can be seen in scientific articles. Most of resins used in articles are Ingeo from Natureworks series, starting with 4043D (cheap one) to 3D870 (very nice). It's also very important on which settings it's printed. X-ray crystallography shows that crystallisation rate of PLA increases up to 260°C nozzle temperature, cooling isn't beneficial so 35°C chamber temperature is recommended and limiting fan speed to as low as possible
