Do you still see movies in theaters?

Option 5: I'd like to go more often, but with short runs in theatres, and not following new releases fast enough, I often find the thing I want to go see is out of theatres by the time I have time to go, so I end up streaming it anyways.

I feel like the MAIN answer - yes, but only when there’s something I’m particularly excited about - is missing

5th option, I try to go. Wish I could go more. One thing I find is that other people dont enjoy going as much as I do. **edit**, I have gone by myself before, yes I realize it can be a very enlightening solo activity. Geez.

This needs another prompt, I love theaters but most movies aren’t worth spending $50 for every weekend. Make better movies

Should be an option for "would go more often but arent many movies i want to pay to go see"

Going to the movies is something I cannot fathom ever giving up. It helps that I live near and amazing indie theater that does tons of special screenings and engagements. Going to the movie theater is one of the small simple pleasures I allow myself. It also helps that I've stopped giving a shit about telling people to shut up when theyre being rude lol

My local movie theater does half-price Tuesdays, which has made movies way more accessible cost-wise (and more fun! Turns out it's easier to enjoy something when it cost you $5 instead of $12)

Poor choice of options in this poll. What about people who enjoy, maybe even prefer to watch movies in theaters, but only watch in theaters sometimes?

only when the movie deserves a theater experience... and that is becoming less and less common. i saw Sinners in theater, before that i saw Civil War and before that i saw Oppenheimer. if its just a run of the mill movie then there is no reason to spend $50 for two of us to go to the movies when in a month it gonna be on a streaming service that i already pay for every month.

Yes I go to the theaters whenever there is a new movie I want to see…it’s just that really only amounts to around 2 films a year

I’d love the theatre if no one else was there. I saw into the Spiderverse in an EMPTY theatre and that was peak.

What about an option for wanting to see a movie In theaters but finances or transportation forcing you to see it at home? I really only go to theaters for “theater movies”- IE where a large screen & theater audio actually brings a benefit.

Option 5. Yes, I do go to the theater, but not a lot, only occasionally whentheres a particularly good movie or some other reason like hanging out with friends.

I wish the dollar theaters were still a thing...that was how I got to see so many movies in the theater as a teenager...it's a lot easier when you can spend all day at the theatre for $5-10

I live in the arctic so I only get to go to the theatres maybe twice a year. I saw Sinners in May and it was an amazing theatre experience. Saw Nosferatu in December 2024 and that was amazing as well.
