In order to save time you could copy the vertical video and put in in the background on the timeline. Then make the background larger so it fills up the whole screen, while the main vertical video remains focused in the front like normal. Then use gausian blur on the background video so the background video is less distracting. This way It looks pretty nice, because instead of having black borders the movements are identical to the main video without distracting from the main video. But that's my opinion of course π. I love your work, it's always cool and entertaining to see how you make reality of what you see in any situation

Yours are the only vertical videos I watch because they are so funny. I hate vertical video, I think people who can't turn the phone on its side before filming are stupid but you can only work with the source material you have. You make vertical video bearable. Keep up the good work π
