Wow, I guess we're entering the world of $80 games. Most Nintendo games are $60, but they sold Tears of the Kingdom for $70. Now Mario Kart World will be $80.

I was worried about $70 but $80 is insane

I hope this is a late April Fool's joke, because $80 is an insult at this point. A jump from $60 to $80 is no joke, we really need to put a stop to Nintendo as the consumers, so they stop this greedy way of thinking

If the next animal crossing is going to cost £70+ it better come with all the things that was in acww, acnl, accf, acnh and achh with at least 5 years worth of updates

I don’t think so called “improved graphics” should have any impact on increasing the games price to $80 so that argument is just cope. Just think of all the other triple A devs making great looking games that people love and still selling it at $60 because they know tons of people will like and buy the game and the company will profit regardless. Now take this situation where MK is Nintendo’s number 1 top seller, people have been waiting 8 years, and graphically MKW doesn’t look much different from MK8 AND they still decide to charge $20 more than the previous game. It should be obvious that Nintendo is purely taking advantage of players hype and wallets because they know creators like Zach (no offense) are still gonna buy it and make videos on it which is gonna make other people lean into it despite the price. Then when enough people pay them $80 for a $60 experience our money will tell Nintendo that they can continue getting away with charging us more and more money for what is essentially glorified mobile games without microtransactions. Please please don’t tell Nintendo this is ok with your wallet because other companies ABSOLUTELY will follow suit soon after.

I was hoping to get the console day one. This just makes me want to wait for whenever there are multiple used copies of the game out

Literally only mario kart is 80 (as well as other bigger games) but most games are 70$. People are blowing this WAY out of proportion.

I was on board with the Switch 2 (even the price) but pricing games at $80 for standard edition is a joke. Hopefully the Switch 2 follows the way of the Wii U so Nintendo can course correct in a couple years.

Keep in mind, this was the price before trump announced the tariffs too. 24% tariff on japan and 46% tariff on Vietnam.

HERE'S A SOLUTION: IF YOU BUY A NINTENDO SWITCH 2 WITH A MARIO KART WORLD BUNDLE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SAVE $30 FROM THE GAME'S PRICE, MEANING YOU ARE BUYING THE GAME FOR $50 WITH A SWITCH 2 PACKED INSIDE
