Was watching TV with a patient in GA . Plane one, β oh wow.β Plane two, βI have to go.β Long agonizing day trying to reach my family in Brooklyn and Harlem . My mom had to walk across a bridge from the Bronx with droves of scared people. I thank God they still had a land line

It was my 3rd month in residency at New York Hospital of Queens. The last time I saw the towers was at 6am before I began my morning rounds. I was a beautiful clear sky panoramic view of the Manhattan skyline.
