I grew up with an Amstrad CPC then a master system. So many great memories from both.

It pains me to say the NES as I had a Master System, but looking back, you can see they had Final Fantasy, Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Castlevania...the list goes on. The games might not look as good as Master System games, but they had over 1,000 games, and the MS had less than 400...

Toss up between the Spectrum and C64. The home computers had far more diverse game libraries with innovative and unique games that consoles could never hope to pull off. I went with the Spectrum cos it had the best 8 bit version of my favourite game Commando.

I have fond memories of the commodore and spectrum and the nes was not that big around my way, but as a games system the master system was a game changer. Instant loading games with vibrant colours with a control pad. With games like sonic, alex kid, and streets of rage. My favourite game on that system would be rastan. Played it to death

I grew up with a C64, did not even know what the NES was, but I have to be honest, the NES had an incredible library due to the support of some Company like Capcom, Konami and first party games. However the C64 is on my desk ready to go ❤

I loved the Commodore 64, with games like the Last Ninja, IK+, Armalyte and The Sacred Armour of Antiriad. But the winner has to be the NES, got that back in 1986 for Christmas. The games library are so good, with Bionic Commando, Life Force, Batman, Zelda. The list is endless..

ZX Spectrum had so many different types of games unlike the others as the ZX Spectrum didn’t have the likes of hardware sprites and scrolling so encouraged developers to experiment and come up with different game type concepts

I love the Speccy and SMS but overall it has to be the nes (got to be the ntsc library though, we missed over half of the games over here). Manic miner and the other classics on the Speccy are amazing but in 2025 a good chunk is hard work to play today.

I had to go with the C64 because I owned that before the master system and I had Batman the movie on cartridge which I obviously played a lot because it had no beep beep rainbow screen waiting 💤💤💤 loading time, I finished it every time

The NES obviously had the best library. Marios, megamans, star wars, batman, zeldas way better than anything on other machines. Main problem growing up is those games were forty quid whereas c64 and speccie games were free if you owned a blank tape....

I had an amstrad,i would say that spectrum had more games but it wasn't as colourful,

I chose the Spectrum then - cheaper, and way better basic than C64, although slow. Gaming, I would go with the C64 - always disliked pure gaming-platforms, and Spectrum had colour-clash and primitive audio.
