At Christmas we celebrate advent. The word advent means “coming” and it’s at Christmas that we celebrate the coming of King Jesus. Traditionally, Hosanna was sung as an expression of praise but it is also a cry for deliverance. As we celebrate the coming of King Jesus to earth at Christmas it’s fitting to sing Hosanna and give praise to the One who has delivered us. But we are also awaiting the return of the King when our hope, salvation and deliverance will be fully realized. This Christmas I invite you believe in Jesus Christ and to sing “Hosanna In The Highest” as an expression of praise to Jesus, the King, who has come and delivered us from sin. I also invite you to sing “Hosanna In The Highest” in continuing faith and anticipation for the day He returns when we will worship Him, singing with all of heaven, “Hosanna in the highest, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”
