- Dimensional scaling is stupid and wrong heres why:
Dimensional Scaling is not a valid measure of power, People who use it are using artifacts of geometry to inflate power levels.

Dimensional scaling became popular when people realized they fan invoke this nonsense to claim why their favorite character doesn’t get haxstomped by someone weaker and/or faster than them.

Energy, is scalor, and independent of dimensions. Infinite energy is the same in all dimensioned space. 1D, 2D, 3D, 7D, 100D. It’s the same. The notion that you need more energy to destroy a 9D space than you do for a 8D space isn’t true.

I believe this comes from the idea that a 3D cube has uncountably infinite 2D square cross sections, and a 4D cube has uncountably infinite 3D cross sections. However, this is geometrical artifact. It doesn’t really mean anything. A 4D cube and a 12D cube have an equal number of points, and an equal number of 2D cross sections , and an equal number of 3D cross sections.

If a character can destroy all the points in a 3D space, then they can destroy all the points in a 100D space.

There is no reason to make dimensionality a factor of power. It can be a factor of range as being able to move in an extra dimension is impressive and useful.

Note: Dimensional scaling can work in some verses if directly confirmed in the series.
