dead but dope

True renunciation cannot be achieved by Imitation. It naturally arises in those who, through realized knowledge, have become free from attraction to material pleasures and detached from the results of their actions whether pleasant or unpleasant. Real renunciation flows from independence from material dualities, not from merely suppressing wrong desires. Imitated renunciation only leads to vanity. When practiced without genuine realization, it becomes “dry,” lacking nourishment for bhakti, and can even be harmful. Therefore, a sincere devotee must continually evaluate where they truly stand honestly and without pretense or the pursuit of false prestige. Such self-assessment is a vital part of the process of 'anartha-nivritti' (cleansing of unwanted habits), and thus holds great importance.
