The fact that the colour he can’t touch is green is a fantastic (albeit perhaps not intentional) detail, as this is before he goes up against God Mode Luigi, who is green. He either can’t bring himself to hurt his brother or he is trying to stop Level Down, but it is so powerful, he can’t even touch it.
