If you're having problems running today's Space Engineers 2 update on Linux try this. Using this launch parameter made it run at least 20 minutes without crashing for me. YMMV.

PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun %command%
