This kind of thing always just pisses me off. It's a poorly phrased expression, poorly phrased on purpose just to get people arguing. PEMDAS/BODMAS are just guides that someone made up. They're not laws of the universe. Only 'correct' answer is "unclear - can you give me more information" Unless, of course, the questions states "using BODMAS, evaluate . . . ."
