I don't care if they loop, I just wish there was a progress bar. Sometimes I just wanna see one specific part

Imo there's 2 reasons to loop a short. If the short maintains the user's interest for successive rewatches or the end of the short gives new insight to the beginning (ie rewards the user for rewatching) then looping is a valuable tool. However looping shorts is extremely common and most often redundant, is unnecessary even in the above cases. A clean transition is preferable imo but sprinkling in loops is nice for variability, just once it's different to the way other channels execute it to some degree.

i voted for indifferent, as i feel it kinda depends on the short, but i do like how some shorts loop, feels very poetic

The problem with loops is that you kinda get tricked into watching again. Not a big waste of time by any means, but the smallest kind of waste.

I prefer the looping for YouTube Shorts. It makes it easier to comment on them in case I forgot a line I wanted to quote or such from the short itself. If I wanted it not loop, I'd just pause before commenting. Also, Merry Christmas/Happy Boxing Day Akshon Esports!

I never watch shorts, it's simply a downgrade stripped of useful features.

the loop is only good if it's good, if you just don't finish your sentence at the end it's annoying

Loops if done well. For instance asking a question about content at the start of a video right before it loops goes hard. Im definitely unbiased tho lol

In general loops are nice when they're surprising. But Shorts can't loop videos seamlessly, so when a short is scripted with a single "because…" right at the end just so it can loop back to the titling line of the beginning, it is jarring as fuck. Videos that loop seamlessly are amazing. Videos that force the loop and could've worked perfectly without them are way worse than they could've been with just a normal ending.

I’ve seen one, maybe two tasteful loops on here. Just saying “and that’s why” at the end of a short annoys me.

I like the loop but if there is no loop it doesn’t bother me either imma rewatch it anyway

its so funny seeing all the short hate, if you don't like them don't watch them. Youtube is a business and shorts are a very popular format that they need to be part of to maintain relevance. They take nothing away from long-form content, there's still plenty of that around.

When watching YouTube Shorts, do you prefer them to loop at the end or don't loop?
