As much as I am addicted to my phone, I'd pick a world without phones. I was lucky enough to experience the transition between low tech and high tech. Life without phones moved slower and the little things mattered a lot more.

I've never heard of anyone being killed by a smartphone collision.

The percentage of those who say no cars is better astonishes me.

The world was so much better before smart phones. I know because I grew up in that world!

I wish we had no cars tbh. Imagine taking trains everywhere or just walking. I feel like you'd meet so many people that way. It might be harder to get groceries but that's okay because there would be local farmers markets. Maybe they'd have grocery delivery drones as well

My whole youth I lived without a smartphone. It was so much less stressful.

people don't realize how much we rely on smartphones, in a world without cars we still have planes, boats, bicycles, etc.

I lived through the 80’s and 90’s without a cell phone, I think a lot of people would be happier and less stressed without a cell phone

I feel like mental health would improve if there were no smart phones. Plus it doesn’t specifically say no cell phones. Going back to a good old flip phone so you can get in contact if necessary but not be glue to it for everything sounds like a great thing. And that’s coming from someone who recognizes that she is addicted to having her phone with her everywhere she goes.

Getting rid of cars would force better public transit and walkable cities. Our reliance on gas and needing to make excess space for car parking would allow for more nature or public spaces in cities. There would be no drunk driving or hit and runs and people wouldn't need to spend so much of their paycheck around keeping their car intact. Cars cause so many issues yet are a forced necessity in so many places.

As much as I love my own, our cellphones are making us weak. People need to learn things the hard way so as not to create dependence

I don’t even know how this is debatable…except for the kids that don’t know any other way. We were so much better off before those damn things came along. I used to jailbreak Androids so this isn’t coming from ignorance. It’s coming from experience and my tiny amount of wisdom.
