I honestly don't know if my afab teen is part of the rainbow mafia or not. She's 13 now and 2 years ago she came out as lesbian. Now she tells me she's not lesbian and has no interest in either gender. About a year ago she told me she wanted to be referred to them/they and within a month of that she told me she wants to be referred to as a girl. Each time I support her and tell her that to me it doesn't matter who she likes as long as it's consentual and it doesn't matter to me if she is a boy, girl, both or neither since it will not change who she is inside and that's the part I love the most. Right now I'm just enjoying the journey of her discovering who she is

Not out yet— hopefully soon when I get a chance to talk to more queer teens at my new school and get comfortable telling others. I'm bi-aroace, but my friends only really know the aroace part, so hopefully I'll be able to meet new people and come out.

My trans son is going to be 21 this year, but he came out when he was a teen. Not sure if I could still do this survey or not. If not that's ok. I'm glad to see this being done either way. I look forward to seeing the results of these surveys. ☺️ Its always good to hear about more parents that support and love their kids. I felt pretty isolated while raising my son, because I didn't have anyone else in my family or friends with LGBTQ kids. Or they where very against it... To which I stopped talking to them. Its good that more parents will be able to see that there are others out there that love their own kids no matter who they are and they will know they are not alone. 👍🏼

Hey parents - we need you! I posted about this study about 2 weeks ago, so a reminder that if you’re a parent you can also apply! 💚
