This sucks or does it blow? I recently recieved this question from a viewer.
"I have a 2002 beetle 1.8t, my radiator fans run all the time, things I have replaced.
The fan relay box under the battery
The green sensor near the driver side of the engine
The white sensor in that 3 way coolant hose
The black sensor that is in the rad on the driver side
The fuse box on top of the battery
Both fans
Now when the key is turned to on without the engine running the fans fire up right away
With the engine running the fans run as well
The engine is stone cold
The fans won’t shut off until the engine is turned off
While car is running akin with the fans, I can turn the fans off by pulling the connector off the white sensor in the 3 way coolant hose set up, is there another area I can look at?
I see some other beetles have a black with a green stripe sensor in the 3 way coolant hose maybe I should try that? Thank you I need help to solve this mystery as I can’t sleep thinking about it"

So here is the reason he & everyone else is baffled, we are all assuming old school direct control of the relays by sensors but The ECM or PCM is now controlling the fans.
