Hey everyone and good evening to you all. If you haven't noticed, a tragedy has occurred in downtown Royal Oak this morning on Saturday October 12. As Amtrak 353 was departing, it struck a person at 6th Street disregarding the crossing and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Me and @Detroit_railfanfilms were at Washington when we watched the train depart. Neither of us were able to see it happen (probably for the better) but we rushed over there quickly before we knew what happened and were met with EMS personnel doing CPR. As you may expect, this experience has scared us but I can't imagine how the friends and family of the victim feel. My heart goes out to them. I will possibly be making a detailed video on the incident but not before I recover mentally. Thank you for your time and please send your regards to their family 🙏
