There’s a very telling detail in the original Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone script. Right there on page one, in the top right corner. I noticed it when I visited the Warner Brothers Studios during my trip to London earlier this year. Scenes 1-18 are omitted. Which means the movie was originally NOT going to open like the book (with Dumbledore dropping off baby Harry).I wonder if scenes 1-18 were backstory or flashbacks of Voldemort’s rise to power or the history of magic?Either way, I thought it was an interesting detail. It’s amazing the little things you can deduce from just a few marks on a script. By the way if you haven’t been to London to see the studio tour, I highly recommend it. #screenwriting #movies #hollywood #harrypotter #warnerbrothers
