It was a balcony conversation that made me build a ₹14 Cr business with my dad!

It was in 2020, when my dad’s local shirt manufacturing unit was bleeding because of the lockdown.

At the same time, I was running a dropshipping business that was doing ₹24 Cr ARR. But I had no brand to show.

That evening, while talking to my dad, I asked him a simple question: “What if we built something together?”

“You manage the production. I’ll handle the rest, branding, marketing, logistics, everything.”

That was the moment Kalmin Ross was born.

We spent a full year preparing - testing 20 shirt designs at a time, setting up two separate websites (for India and the US), and learning how to shoot, ship, and scale without losing control.

When we launched, every order came home, literally. My family packed each piece, printed invoices, and scheduled pickups from our living room.

Today, I wear our shirts to events, Zoom calls, even lazy Sundays, and when someone asks: “What brand is that?”

I say: This is ours. We built it from scratch, at home during a pandemic.

Because some of the most meaningful businesses don’t start with capital, they start with conviction.
