When my friend told me she was terrified of clowns, I laughed out loud: CLOWNS?! But they’re a joke! Like, literally, a joke! Then Stephen King wrote IT, and I kinda got why. But I’ve always been a fan of Pierrot, of the Fool, grew up on Bozo and even Red Skelton and Hobo Kelly, so clowns meant boffo laffs. Maybe I’m the weirdo.

Clarabel. The first clown I remembered as a child. He, not a she, creeped me out immediately.

My SIL told me that she's afraid of clowns. I said, "So why'd you marry one?"

I know one girl who will go into hysterics if she sees a clown on television.
