A Dummie

Hi. Sorry for not posting in 8 months and 20 days. Good news is that the drought is over and I will be making a new upload today, as soon as I figure out how to make a good thumbnail for it. It’s another SCP video, this time taking more realistic models. The wacky stuff with TF2 only characters (what I usually do and prefer making usually) should yield another video around late September, so don’t worry.

The reason for this amount of time needed is due to (mainly) IRL operations, decent amounts of combat scenes, and improved lighting techniques.

This brings us to my own IRL affairs. If this was another channel, this is where I would probably say something like “mental health issues”, “no motivation”, or “youtube algorithm”. All of these are not what I mean. I am probably in a much better mental condition than the average internet user, I am filled with drive to animate more, and I’ve accepted my channel’s position in algo hell at the moment.

No, what I mean is that things in my IRL life are going well. My day job is electronic engineering, and I like doing it. And more importantly, I’m decent at it, which is more than can be said for my animations. The STEM subjects have always been fields I’ve excelled at. My eventual goal in life is to be involved in space-related electronics, and I was offered quite a few opportunities this year to get close to that goal.

These opportunities were quite time-consuming, however. And this has greatly resulted in my reduced uploads over this year. During the last 9 months, I have animated for 426 hours. In comparison to the same period last year, I animated exactly 800. This is to be expected as I get older, I’m 21 and hobby time is likely to reduce further.

This whole Youtube thing has always been a sidequest for me. So I’m typing this wall of text to let you know that there’s a good chance I’ll stop uploading after 2024. No, that doesn’t mean I’m stopping this whole animation thing, it’s the greatest timesink I’ve ever found, and I would likely go crazy without it in the next 2 years. It’s merely that my priorities in life have always placed animating as secondary to my academics and electronic engineering.

Again, this is not me saying that I’m retiring today. This is just a heads up, letting you know that my time on this platform is is limited. Thanks for all the support over the last 6 years.
