Consoles were great back then, they just worked! My PC however had to be wrangled to run anything. I remember killing off every single process in Task Manager that were not strictly necessary to be able to run System Shock 2 in 640x480, and even then it ran like a slide show. 800x600 ran at a single digit frame rate, and I used to switch to it and dream about being able to actually play the game at such a high, crisp definition. You whippersnappers don’t know how good you have it!

I also remember how ps1 and ps2 intro started and it was 50/50 between game working and console committing "none existence" anxiety was unreal not gonna lie.

I remember dial-up and am 24. I still remember the running man and that distinct screeching sound.

Yep. I'm old enough to remember RF splitters for the Master System and the NES that simplified it a bit. It wasn't until the PSX that we got the luxury of the vaunted "AV" feature with either SCART or RCA connectors.

Funny story and this was way way before I got into IT, I had my first Playstation 3 console where I use to play games via composite cables not knowing what an HDMI cable does. So once I saw that it had an hdmi port and plugged in a cable it made a huge difference in graphics lol.
