Unpopular Opinion and Hot Take: Susanna Marlowe from Candy Candy is overhated and people hate Susanna for stupid and petty reasons.
Susanna did NOT get in the way of the Candy x Terry ship and the Latin American Spanish fandom calls Susanna for Gusana (the Spanish word for worm) and it grinds my gears very much and even worse the fans wanted Susanna to die in the anime and there are fanfics where Susanna gets the Ron the Death Eater treatment.
People forget that Susanna Marlowe did a brave and heroic act when she saved Terry from a falling stage lamp and she lost her right leg and it got amputated and Susanna tried to commit suicide by jumping off the hospital building (which she luckily she didn’t commit suicide).
The fans also forget that Susanna has an abusive mother who puts pressure on her.
I have deep sympathy for poor Susanna Marlowe, she deserves better and I would have given her a prosthetic leg so she could walk again. I would protect Susanna Marlowe from her rabid and toxic haters and her poor excuse of a mother.
People should hate on Neil and Eliza Leagan and not on Susanna Marlowe.
