Adin's Corner of Fans and Other Things 2004

To celebrate the 9-year anniversary and 1200 subscribers of this channel, we have a special treat. 52" Casablanca Delta in Charcoal Black from September 28, 1983. Was the 119th fan made on that day. I originally intended to use the B45 Antique Oak blades, but it had a death wobble due to one of the blades being lighter than the rest and a bent blade arm. Had to use B15C Walnut with Cane blades from the 1984 Bright Brass Delta and bent the blade arm back into alignment and it helped cut down on the wobble a lot. 10uf start capacitor was replaced as the original one had drifted and its high speed current draw was a bit low than what it's supposed to be drawing. I also went to replace the speed capacitors just because I'm a bit fussy with having the values being close or match up with the expected value. As for replacing the bearings that were glued shut on both end bells of the motor, I went on using PB-blaster in lieu of a blowtorch on both the old bearings to hammer out the bottom end bell from bottom bearing, used bearing puller to remove bottom bearing, and using a blind bearing puller to remove top bearing from top end bell. Really satisfied with a smooth and quiet operation. The wires in the motor had butt connectors upon replacing the bearings.
