Yayyy, magical girls series (note: me wanting to put this out here was inspired by CSG, but none of this was copied. If I see anyone accusing me of that, I’m gonna crash out. I’ve put a lot of work into this, and it’s based off a project I abandoned a year or so ago) This is a fictional world named Kaia (inspired by Japan and Japanese culture because this is based off the magical girls genre, all the characters are Japanese or Japanese-mixed)
Magic is just kind of accepted in the world, women (biologically) are more likely to have the ability to connect with it Magic stems from Mirror where Angelettes live and attach to certain people. When they go through the Ascension, their souls literally merge into a new being. The ability to Ascend or even communicate with the Angelettes is actually somewhat rare, so anyone who has the ability is taken from their family to be raised by the Mahou Chamber. The main enemy of the Mahou Chamber are the Kaiju
Glossary - Mirror: A dimension close to Kaia, houses the Angelettes, unsustainable for humans to enter -Angelettes: Supernatural beings that inhabit the Mirror, can merge with human souls, communicate telepathically, often take the viewable form of animals - Ascension: The process of a human merging with an Angelette - Mahou Chamber: The society of Mahou, controls and observes the safety of Kaia and actions of Mahou - Mahou: People with the ability to Ascend and connect with Angelettes - Kaiju: Intelligent monsters from the Cavern - Cavern: A dimension similar to Mirror, houses the Kaiju - Magestaria: The headquarters of the Mahou Chamber, most Mahou live, train, and die there
Power levels increase as the Mahou ages, and powers start emerging by age 8 Using magic is not entirely dependent on Ascending, and can be used in small amounts even if the Mahou is not merged with the Angelette.
There are five different power types: - Shōhi Suru (Consume): Fire-related, Mahou can burst into flames, create fire/fire blasts, control existing fire, and can burn things with touch alone. - Nagare (Flow): Water-related, Mahou can create water, speak/breathe/see under water, control existing water, create storms, and are durable against physical damage. - Uzumaku (Swirling): Air-related, Mahou can control winds, wield it into a solid mass, fly, create storms, and use super speed. - Teikō Suru (Resist): Earth-related, Mahou can control rocks/crystals, use super strength, control existing plants, and restore health by contact with ground.
It is very difficult to kill Kaiju. It is also very hard to kill a Mahou. The war between them has been occurring since the creation of Kaia. Kaia was placed in a spot right between the weak-points where Mirror and Cavern had enough breakthrough. Mirror wasn’t able to fully let Angelettes through, while Cavern’s resistance was enough to let the Kaiju into Kaia. Therefore, the Angelettes granted magic to humans, creating the Mahou. Magic also allows the Mahou to live for centuries, and the oldest are the leaders of the Mahou Chamber. Mahou teams are always in three, and a soul connection is formed between the three even if a Mahou dies, they cannot be replaced because the connection will not embrace the newcomer.
In order to kill Kaiju, whose skins are often impervious to human weapons, the Mahou Chamber created new types of weapons, called Celestial Blades. These are materials infused with magic from both Mirror and Cavern. They can break through Kaiju skin, but also have the same effect on Mahou as regular weapons on a human. Therefore, Celestial Blades are handled with extreme caution and are only granted when a Mahou turns 15. Being held in Celestial metals also can disable a Mahous powers.
Mahou Chamber Levels: - Fledglings: Lowest level, 8-12 years old, taken care of by certain assigned members of the Prims, most time is spent learning to communicate and connect with their Angelettes - Eclipses: Second lowest level, 13-15 years old, taken care of by certain assigned members of the Prims but left to their own devices more often, starting first missions - Blossoms: Third level, 16-20 years old, no longer need to be supervised, still on easier missions - Shimmers: Fourth level, 21-30 years old, starting on more dangerous missions/smaller Kaiju - Prims: Fifth level, 31-50 years old, experienced fighters on average/dangerous missions - Angels: Sixth level, 51-beyond, regularly going on dangerous missions, taking care of many tasks and happenings in the Mahou Chamber - Hives: Highest level, 200+, least amount of Mahou, only go on the most dangerous missions, run the core of the Mahou Chamber
These three are the general main protagonists, Umeko, Tsubame, and Minato. They’re eight and have begun to show their powers, so they’re being brought into the Mahou Chamber. Ema Umeko is a friendly, kind, yet naive girl who craves fun and peace. Sometimes to the point of recklessness and idealism. She's creative and thinks outside of the box most often. It can be hard for her to connect with others because of her out-there, bold nature, but she's good at heart. She likes dango, cats, but she hates spicy foods and her freckles- which is why she covers so much of herself. She lived with her parents and baby sister Sachiko. Kato Tsubame is the “youngest” of the group, having just turned eight a week before the story’s events. She’s Umeko’s best friend, since the two grew up together. Loyal to a fault, she sees the good in everyone even if it's small. However, she's frightened easily and has a difficult time standing up for herself. She's curious and enjoys quieter moments and learning. She has birthmarks on her back in the shape of wings, which earns her the nickname “Bird.” She likes stars and coloring books, but she doesn’t like to be excluded and feels sad in gloomy weather. She lived with her parents and grandfather. Suzuki Minato is a bit older than her friends, but they get along just fine. A bit of an awkward girl, she doesn't always feel like she fits in with her friends. She's loud, outspoken, and brave- but she can end up being insensitive or snarky at times. Despite this, she loves her friends and wouldn't let anyone hurt them. She’s missing one of her front teeth, from all her time exploring. She loves video games, manga, and hates being bossed around and being bored. Her parents passed, so she was raised by her oldest brother Dai, along with her other brother Hachi. However, Hachi was already taken from their family by the Mahou Chamber when he displayed powers.
