My sweet baby girl Halloumi went over the bridge 🌈 this afternoon. Our hearts are broken - me, Jon and our herd are all broken deeply. 😭💔 She was the leader of the herd but the most gentle soul ever.
She meant so much to us and everyday was a blessing to have considering her health. She lived longer than we thought - 3 years and survived her pneumonia a few months ago.
When we originally adopted Halloumi from someone who saved her from being snake 🐍 food. We took her and gave her a home with our other broken piggies. She was always clumsy baby and we later found out she had a spine issue that made her spine like a 'm' in shape and she had constant breathing issues (we nebulised her often and many vet visits for antibiotics to help clear it). She had mobility issues due to the spine being so bad but the original breeder was breeding for snake food so didn't care about the health of animals.
A few months ago she developed pneumonia and survived it with the help of @littlefloofsmicrorescue and Scotty's Animals on additional treatment options.
She really perked up after and was walking around more and more active for weeks. She was doing sooo amazing but it was the heart attack that happened this afternoon that took her suddenly.
We knew she wouldn't have a long life from a young age so we made her as comfortable as possible. I just wish I had longer as she was such a gentle soul. I would call her "Halloumi!" And she would come as fast as she could for her 🫛 peaflakes. She would lick your hand for more.
She was one of our best models for Toffee Apple Pets too. We was always so proud of you my sweet squeaky cheese 🧀
