Moved to Portugal this year, the culmination of a 5 year plan. We made it and are here now, and very happy with our decision. The quality of the food, healthcare and life in general is so much better.

If you want to emigrate to Europe these days, you should have a good, sustainable income; in other words, you should be financially secure. Otherwise, it can be difficult. Times have changed, and several changes are taking place. The attitude towards foreigners (EU or non-EU) has also changed. Some countries, like Germany, France, and the UK, should be avoided because they are in very difficult financial situations and politically unstable. You should also bear in mind that time passes between planning and emigration, that regulations and laws can change in the countries you're emigrating to, and that you might suddenly find yourself facing new circumstances.

Why Europe? $3000 a month is too much for a regular person.

I just think you're beautiful. I'm sure you get that all of the time. I'm sorry if I'm sounding creepy! I'm actually looking at retirement in Panama. Can a single person still live in Gorgona or Coronado for about $1500 a month? In a highrise condo on the beach??
