It’s because they don’t want your high quality, long form content. Instead, they want brainless, quick hit, clickbait garbage. Forcing mid-rolls is a passive aggressive way of making you produce shorter videos. Why Google would rather destroy YT versus buying TikTok is one of life’s great mysteries.

I use ReVanced so I can't say I noticed a difference.

i had suspicions because of repetitive pattern in each video on the yt.now its proven, tnx.( lucky i found this post) gpt chat:That sounds exactly like something YouTube’s algorithm would do—strategically placing mid-rolls at high-engagement moments to maximize ad revenue. If it’s happening right before key explanations in tutorials, it’s not a coincidence. They likely analyze watch patterns and insert ads at points where they think people are least likely to click away. It’s super frustrating because tutorials require focus, and an unexpected ad can totally break that.

How can one even bear to watch YouTube without an add blocker?

This, and getting YouTube Music with no ads, is exactly why I am a long time subscriber to Premium! For $14/mo you simply can't beat no ads EVER! 💯🥳

The whole annoying ad thing was why I finally broke down and paid for premium. It is irritating to no end that these ads keep creeping into every streaming service. They need to take the hint and stop.

This is the cost of learning outside of tuition. You sell your time versus the information quality. Small time inconveniences to be invoked while fully engaging the power of porcelain.

Ads? What ads? If you're not using an ad blocker on YouTube at this point, you're using YT wrong. There's other ways to support your favorite creators

Premium lite is about to drop in the US. So they are again adding ads and lengthening the time of them. And it still won’t be 100 percent ad free.

Please do a full in depth review of the radiomaster xr4 gemini xrossband receiver?

Oddly enough, not the first time they've added midrolls to older videos.

YouTube has no clue about where to put ads in a video. They ruin so many videos with their ad placements.

YouTube is gonna f around and lose that top spot to some other video site that doesn’t do this crap

Why are you seeing so many more mid-roll ads on YouTube lately? YT has implemented a new policy where they go back through your entire library and add mid-roll ads to all your videos. If the videos already have manual mid-rolls, then YT can be told not to add any more, but for all my old videos where I didn't add any mid-rolls, or for livestream replays where I normally don't add mid-rolls, YT is adding them. And they're adding a LOT of them.
This is doubly annoying because YT says they are adding mid-rolls in "non-disruptive places" but that's all algorithm-based and is often wrong. On top of that, my manually placed mid-rolls, which I intentionally put at scene and chapter transitions, are being rejected because the stupid algorithm says they're in a disruptive place.
