Far from the twilight and tragic tones of De Palma and Gray, the film takes on a social dimension similar to that of the Dardannes brothers, as fiction seems to merge with reality, filmed as if it were a documentary.
Through his niece, Martin's inner conflict and vulnerability are revealed, with only ATV racing bringing him back to his former self and glory as the Prince of Val-Bé.
