Personally, I find exotic pets fascinating, they reveal so much about human curiosity and our bond with nature. But many species simply don’t belong in a house. Most exotic animals have complex needs, and when kept as pets, they often suffer from stress or poor living conditions. What do you think? Should exotic pets be allowed at all?

When something bad happens the animal will get put down... FOR BEING A WILD ANIMAL.

There are a few animals that shouldn't be kept in town but you should be able to make anything a pet.

There are exotic animals that are chill. Leopard geckos, ferrets, bearded dragons, corn snakes, rabbits, etc. Then there are big cats, monkeys, and bush babies. What kind of "exotics" are we talking about?

So simple wild animals are called wild animals because they belong in the wild

So many exotic pet stories end horribly. And then if the animal snaps and attacks someone or the owner, the animal pays the price.

We just need more people to go out and hug and pet bears so they know we're friendly

I'm ambivalent. The pragmatist in me wants them banned because people are endangering themselves, their ecosystem, and their neighbors for the vapid benefit of showing off an unorthodox pet. The darwinist in me wants everyone who wants exotic pets to get them so they get their faces/throats ripped out by a chimp/tiger and rid us of their stupidity.

I think that if people like zoologists existed in ancient Egypt cats would never have been domesticated.

Just because domesticated animals were once wild animals that have been domesticated, doesn’t make it right owning exotic wild animals as pets. The only exotic wild animals that should be kept are in sanctuaries and rescues where they can get some help if they’re injured or unable to be returned to the wild. Household should not be keeping exotic animals as pets.

People always talk about more tigers living in Texas than the wild, but if their were no tigers in Texas, we would just have less tigers in the world and not many more in the wild.

Honestly give some regulations but as long as the pet is happy. I’ve always wanted to own a monkey

I have an Orchid Mantis and a Hercules Beetle as a pet. I see nothing wrong with it. I live in Philadelphia, PA, USA btw.

If the fact that there are more tigers in captivity in America than in the wild doesn't make a case for having them as pets ,I dont know what does.

Wild animals belong in... the... wild... 🙄 And exotic pets, I fear, have terrible trading businesses. It would be cool, but for everyone's sake, no

i don't mind, as long as they have a lot of space and are treated well
