I love how they advertise the “film advance lever”. They’re really proud of the fidget toy on top of their camera.

I recognize a cheap webcam when I see one. And they can be their own fun, but the advertising and price scream "garbage". If inflation and our economy wasn't so messed up would consider spending more than a few dozen dollars, max, on a toy like that.

How did Yashica fall off so badly, their film cameras were kinda peak

They completely killed the heritage with this camera; the Yashica name was already reduced to a crappy Digicam company as soon as Jebsen Group bought the Yashica trademarks. They underdelivered here; they left marketing vague because they knew they underdelivered. This camera is nothing but an idea made in a corporate board room as a fleeting attempt to be something other than “that one company who just does cheap collabs.” It’s sad to see that instead of trying to make something new, they, again, relied on actual good cameras that they did not make. They need to make something worth buying in the future, and don’t stain Yashica’s long and amazing heritage.

I can't decide if this is a bigger scam than the RF 75-300

Fifteen years ago I picked up a Yashica FR, and was impressed enough to buy a set of ML and DSB lenses for it. Sad to see a once great marque reduced this.

1/5 of money raised compared to y35, 80% of the people get smarter it seems or poorer

Such a bummer. Yashica used to be a budget Contax back in the film days. These companies that just zombify brands for recognition without delivering anything worthwhile are rotten.

I bet 20 bucks it will have some kind of weights inside to make it feel more expensive

I like the Fuji film simulation modes but I really wish it was a plug-in for Lightroom/Photoshop

The Fuji Xhalf got dinged hard by idiotic tariffs, but at least it was a real camera. This POS makes it look reasonably priced.

The 3x zoom will be a reskinned City100 - a fully functioning compact camera with a tiny sensor.

Honestly, if they can't even be bothered to spend on the same 1/1.3" chips in action cameras, not interested. A $200 Android has better hardware than that.

I just use a DSLR and it pretty much feels exactly like an advanced computerized late model film SLR like the Nikon F6
