After an all-woman crew returned from an 11-minute trip to the boundary of space, pop star Katy Perry said she felt “super connected to love,” and that the mission was “all for the benefit of Earth.”

But critics were quick to point out the irony of claiming the Earth benefited from the trip, given that it was operated by Blue Origin, a private space company owned by billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Amazon emits millions of tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent each year, relies heavily on fossil fuel infrastructure for deliveries and has lobbied against environmental protection laws.

Bezos also announced a $1 million donation to the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump, a climate crisis denier who has issued orders to roll back climate policies.

What’s more, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration warned in 2022 that increased space travel, including space tourism, could damage the ozone layer.

But the amateur astronauts defended themselves against critics, saying they’re paving the way for girls and women to travel to space.

Meanwhile real historical figures are erased from government websites. How is that paving the way for women astronauts?

They weren't crew, they were passengers. They spent more time looking into the cameras than looking out the windows. This was just the world's most expensive selfie.

And that’s why I stopped using Amazon all together after the elections (independent decision, timing’s a coincidence). I also think I stopped shopping at Whole Foods earlier once I found out the link to the IDF.

Katy’s album flopped so hard, she’s trying to find anything to stay relevant. Desperate Bedelia.

This is a show of how little they care for the planet and the people in it, bc you know..they’re rich and they can! They think they’re untouchable, they are not.

Yea a true benefit to mankind would be helping it instead of a 14 minute flight . Also f amazon they broke our settlement agreement they signed in 23 . They were supposed to continue long term disability until I could return to work or get ssi . They paid me 1 month then said they overpaid by the down to the penny amount I got in the settlement (physically after the lawyer took theirs) . My new lawyer is going to try to go after them for all my back pay (that's 1200 a month twice a month (based on my final 6 months of paychecks) from August of 2023 to now april of 2025) . Don't work for them it's not worth it(also their insurance sucks i have better with state
