Johnny Harris

A few snaps from the video that publishes tomorrow. This is an exciting one for me because it's a collaboration with The Economist's Shashank Joshi who I've been reading and learning from for years. Shashank talks us through how AI is transforming war and we visualize it all in a 3d simulation. You wont want to miss it.

On a broader note: It's very clear to me that software is going to be a bigger and bigger part of security and defense and I want to stay on top of covering and explaining the developments in this space. As always I want you curiosity and questions to help guide my coverage. So leave me your thoughts on what questions you have about AI and its role in the future of war. I'll be reading comments and using them to influence future videos.
Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

@mtalhaawais

Interesting to see this animation style get more and more popular. I wonder who introduced it. I remember my first time seeing it was in a Fern video.

One question that seems to come to mind every time I learn more about AI driven sectors, Is what is being done on the security side of things. How do defend against AI and it ability to adapt. I feel like the conversation is always about what it can do instead of how do we protect ourselves and our data from it.

I think the question that immediately comes to mind is autonomous decision making, and if there will be international laws/repercussions for its use. Adjacent to that, there's the question of how much trust gets placed in these systems even when a person is making the decision. What's a tolerable margin of error when it's someone's life? I wonder sometimes if the future of war isn't more of a surveillance, propaganda, foreign interference type of thing. Perhaps the last few years tell us we're not here yet, but I think of how the whole Cambridge Analytica was pre-AI. Machine learning assisted propaganda? And obviously information warfare is not a new thing, but we've seen how much control of media has influenced opinion in Russia, especially for those who don't speak English. When all the Snowden leaks came out, and we saw how integrated all the tech companies were with "national security".. I think it's only reasonable to assume both domestic and foreign propaganda, to what level is the question

I wouldn’t have thought about a subject like that, it’s not on my horizon. Yet I can’t wait to see it.

Do a video on wealth inequality, interview Gary’s economics. Every single journalist needs to talk about this, it’s destroying absolutely everything.

I'm interested in taking Ai through a logic process to see what might happen in the medium term. I think 1 positive outcome of Ai might be the end of money. With Ai war, it feels Ai makes it even more pointless than it already is. At least on a battlefield. Because it ends up being a game of who has more robots/drones than the other. Battlefields rammed with 2 million solder robots and mass swarms of drones all attacking each other. It'll end up being a weird reality show. And robots will make more soldiers and Ai will plan more intricate attack strategies. Eventually it'll just be war by Ai agent.

Porque entónces se desarrolló prejuicios contra el pueblo indigena, como si fueran menos, ciudadanos de segunda clase? ¿Ese prejuicio se heredó de españoles, no?

Looking forward to this very much! I've been working professionally as a software engineer for many years and now I'm almost done with my Bachelor's degree in CyberSecurity and Information Assurance too on top of that and this is important for everyone, so please stay on top of things like this. Not only is it very informative and entertaining, but I think it's also important to give everyone an edge on understanding what's already here and what's coming, because it's coming very fast, faster than most people realize and I think it's going to blindside many people who aren't aware. Thanks for your awesome work!
