Amidst all of the LEGO Black Friday spamming (sorry about that, but I have a family to feed 🫣) shocking news come from the Bricklink LEGO side of things...

For those who don't know, BrickLink is an online marketplace and community for buying and selling LEGO parts and sets from individual sellers worldwide, an incredibly important resource for the entire LEGO community.

The shocking news is that the Bricklink team decided to cancel operations on 35 countries starting December 12th meaning that people will not be able to buy or sell in those countries?! (www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1531488)

These are the affected countries:

Indonesia
Turkey
South Africa
Taiwan
Ukraine
Brazil
Serbia
United Arab Emirates
Kazakhstan
Peru
Israel
India
Morocco
Chile
Vietnam
Georgia
Lebanon
Saudi Arabia
Qatar
Oman
El Salvador
Bahrain
Azerbaijan
Armenia
Pakistan
Egypt
Moldova
Ecuador
Argentina
Costa Rica
Colombia
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Turkmenistan
Greenland
San Marino

For regular buyers I'm assuming that purchases from overseas can still be made, which isn't ideal due to shipping costs and maybe customs fees, but not the end of the world.

But for people who were running businesses off of Bricklink in the affected countries no amount of words will be enough to support them, this must have been an incredible blow to them, not the kind of Christmas present anyone expected under the tree...

Not really sure what's going on and no further comments were given about the subject, but if there's interest from the community, and further developments come to light, I'll be sure to share more about it.
