For the record, in my newest video about Kitty Genovese I said "they" (the news) mentioned her story when talking about Jordon Neely and Daniel Penny. I'm not saying her story is exactly the same. I'm not saying anything more than her story was referenced. HOWEVER, some of the comments have me curious to see what you all think about it.

God bless Daniel Penny! Hes absolutely a protector and hero! This man is a US Marine. He served our country and on Memorial day he should be awarded a medal of honor.

Wasn’t Jordan accused of threatening to kill people on the train?

@Sandlin22

Well, considering that the guy who got killed had been arrested 41 times, including for kidnapping a 7 year old and had an active arrest warrant for beating a 67 year old woman, one thing is for sure. Women and children in his neighborhood are certainly safer now that he's not prowling around. Is the person who choked him a hero? I can't say. However, the eyewitnesses on the train are calling him a hero because they're claiming the guy who died was threatening to harm everyone and has a history of following through.

If there were more Daniel Perry's there would be less crime.

@traumgeist

Assuming the man has family, they’re allowed to file a criminal complaint and make noise until the DA takes it to court. That’s the law. If there’s any evidence that suggests it’s not a clear cut case of self defense, then a jury has to decide if it was a murder.

@dlbstl

I said it's complicated because there was all those people that could have helped him restrain that guy and they didn't help. The homeless guy had been threatening people and he continued to threaten people. If 4 or 5 people had just stepped up and held him down then one guy wouldn't have had to hold him so tightly. So that's why I thought you brought up Kitty Genovese. If more people would have been involved it might not have ended the way it did. 🤷‍♀

All i know is, you did a video on the G.W bridge but didn't mention its appearance in the movie Cop Land (1997), which is really the only reason why a lot of foreigners even know of the bridge at all.

Manslaughter at the MOST. Definitely not murder, imo

@terrynixon2758

He is neither a hero or a murder. He's a man who tried to do the right thing but did not. Being scary and a public nuisance does not deserve death. However Penny clearly did not intend to kill him but DID knowingly use potentially deadly force that lead to death. He is guilty of manslaughter (imo) and nothing more. However he did kill someone who wasn't trying to cause him or anyone else harm and so he is not a hero.
