Japan Eat

[HUGE ANNOUNCEMENTS]
Well guys, we did it! Our community is now 2 MILLION strong! Before I get all sappy, here are some fun announcements!

1. Surprise! I’ve been working for 6 billion years on the official website, www.japaneat.com and it’s live NOW! It's stuffed full with all sorts of fun stuff like:

• Japan Eat Official Merch:

These merch concepts were the result of me spending 6 million hours daydreaming on various modes of Japanese transportation, and were brought to life by some amazing, independent artists.
I probably should have just asked someone: ‘Hey, make me merch please ty”, But I wanted to make something that authentically celebrates the channel while still being stylish and wearable. I think they turned out great and I hope you find something you like!

• An Interactive Food Map:

This map features nearly every location I’ve visited throughout the years with clickable links to their corresponding Shorts and Google Maps listings.
Whether you want to check out spots near your hotel, neighborhood, or just want to spend a few hours clicking around, it’s a free map for you, Jim.

• Kobe Shopping Street Restaurant Tier List:

An interactive tier list that will be updated with each new episode of the series. With nice pictures and nice links. An overwhelming amount of you have asked for a published list, and I think this is the most accessible way to do it.

2. New Logo! He doesn’t have a name. But I don’t think he wants one. (pls do not name him)

Funny story, the old logo wasn’t even supposed to be the Japan Eat logo. The original idea for Japan Eat was just me reviewing Japanese cup noodles, alone in my room, with no audio. Only the sweet sounds of single use plastics and boiling water.
When I started Japan Eat, I just threw that logo on the channel and never changed it.
The old logo was cute and cuddly, but I wanted something more reflective of the content.

I don’t know what I did to deserve this amount of support. Japan Eat started as a desire to share the Japanese meals I was eating on a daily basis with friends and family back home. Over time, it devolved into whatever the heck it is now, but I’m so grateful for each and everyone of you who watch and cheer me on. Whether you’ve watched one video or all of them, I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to take up time in your day and the opportunity you've given me to share meals with 2 million of my friends.

The inner workings of Japan Eat haven’t changed since I’ve had 2 subscribers and I don’t ever want them to. I still enjoy waking up every day and searching for new and exciting places to share and I hope I can continue to do so for a long time.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

It's honestly due to your insanely sharp wit, writing, and humor. I kinda want to do something similar for the food in my country...

"The lower tiers aren't listed because that's kinda mean" got me to laugh out loud, I read it in your voice. Happy for you and your growth!!

My wife and I are going to Japan for 2 weeks this summer. She's going to be so excited when we spend both weeks under a mall in Kobe.

Dude, congratulations! I'm definitely getting some merch, it looks dope I'll tell you what you did: you were genuine and passionate. Your deadpan delivery can't hide your real enthusiasm for the humble folks who feed the people around them, and in the meantime you're also dropping some really funny nerdy jokes and references. Keep it up choom!

Congrats on reaching 2M!!! The website looks great and I really appreciate the work to setup the interactive map and tierlist so now when I plan to visit Japan you have made a valuable resource I can consult. Merch looks awesome and I might cop a few things later. Thank you for always being a part of my daily evening entertainment and keep doing what you are doing

Your videos are a highlight of my day. You deserve every single one of your followers. Because anyone who can create the jingle, “Things that look like poop, but don’t taste like poop,” is brilliant in my book.

What's that? Real emotions from THE JapanEat? Jokes aside, instead of you hoping people would watch, safe to say a lot of us have now built a habit of coming on here & immediately clicking the latest JapanEat YT short before we start/end our day. Congrats on 2 million!

Aaahhh!! So awesome!! Congrats on 2MIL!! 🥳🎉 I love the merch! Especially that black hoodie that says "Japan Eat," and I love that you created the map of all the places you go to! Every time I watch your videos, I say to myself, "Oh, I have to remember to go there when I go to Japan!" (someday) lol 😆😆 The dry humor and witty voice-overs in your videos make them my favorite shorts to watch. Even my mom has started watching your videos, and she loves them! 🩵🫶🏻

Congrats, Japaneats-san! Your reviews have truly helped me navigate the vast ocean that is Japanese cuisine, whenever I visit! Especially in areas like Kobe, because mostly food bloggers only review Tokyo. I've been following your footsteps to experience more of locals' daily meals. Those are the ones that I remember the most. Thank you, Japaneats-san!
