Deprogrammed with Keri Smith

Jordan Peterson has caused quite a bit of conversation by talking about the Psychopathology of both Woke Left and Woke Right on the Joe Rogan podcast. Let's watch some clips and discuss the Cluster B traits found in would-be tyrants. Join us for a LIVE #Deprogrammed with Keri Smith on Friday, April 25th at 2pm CDT. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev-v_...

@P3rformula

Keri Smith, I think you're a good advocate for your ideas and views. None of the following applies to you. What's frustrating to me is that some of the analysts and commentators on the right-leaning populist side aren't all too sympathetic to the core problems that people like James Lindsay, Peterson, and you are trying to point out. But I think they have compelling reasons not to. Particularly when it comes to the topic of "woke right". From a marketing and persuasion point of view, I think Lindsay's (just an example) often brute force, scorched earth, and trollish way of advocacy has been mixed. It turns off people who were previously sympathetic of his advocacy, that are ALSO not sympathetic to the sphere on the right that adopt critical theory, racism, bigotry, etc. For example, Robert Barnes from Viva Frei & Robert Barnes has encouraged his audience to disregard this sphere of discourse for the most part, and thinks it's a relative a waste of time. People like Barnes argue that Lindsay's advocacy against "woke right" so far, is oversized in proportion to the other issues out there in politics and culture. For example, the economy for everyday people, medical/health/food freedom, immigration, judicial corruption. They're in agreement that bad actors exist on the right who race hustle, promote anti-freedom ideas, or just outright liars... But they disagree with it warranting the relative scale and level of attention that Lindsay is pushing for on a daily basis. The final thing I think rubs some people the wrong way is the topic of "gatekeeping" of ideas and voices. I think it's a delicate balancing act to talk about gatekeeping because one can easily get oversimplified and branded as "pro censorship" or "pro deplatforming". Again, there are public commentators and analysts on the right who are not at all sympathetic to the ideas of racists, race hustlers, neo-reactionaries, etc. such as Candace, Fuentes, Cooper/Martyrmade, and even at times certain independents and libertarians like Dave Smith. But despite often or always being against those people, they're ALSO turned off and irritated by people like Douglas Murray, Peterson, or Konstantin, who have been spotty or bad on issues such as covid, and in some cases promoters of a neocon/pro-war viewpoint in what many view in a snobbish and condescending way. On a minor note - What probably also doesn't help is that certain other public figures who join in on promoting such an issue were previously weak on covid and/or part of the DeSantis influencer camp who turned a blind eye to the persecution of Trump.

@thumb-ugly7518

I've enjoyed Peterson's book about straightening up my room and such. That said, his stance on young men seems incomplete from my view. Straightening up oneself is good. Controlling your emotions and setting goals, all these things are good. However, his blanket statements on young men online have been rough to watch. Peterson called many weasels. He wants to remove online anonymity. I understand his personal grudge with individuals who attack him and his daughter. I still see this as a contradiction to his previous stance. I'm also seeing more and more, Men viewed primarily, if not solely, as utilities for the state and women. I find it hard to reconcile the advocacy to take care of men, with men are tools.
